Wockhardt Hospitals and Determination of a 71-Year-Old Patient Lead to Successful Recovery from Aortic Stenosis

Mrs. Sugandha Jadhav, a 71-year-old patient, showed remarkable determination and strength when she was diagnosed with Type 2 respiratory failure, bronchial asthma, old TB, and severe aortic stenosis (AS) and left ventricular dysfunction (EF-15%). Although surgical replacement or transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) were recommended, Mrs. Jadhav chose to undergo open heart surgery despite the high risks. With the expertise and care of Dr. Gulshan Rohra and the team of doctors at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai Central, Mrs. Jadhav successfully underwent surgery, received pulmonary and physical rehabilitation, and made a full recovery.

Dr. Rohra said, “Mrs. Jadhav’s surgery was challenging due to her age, weight, and difficult valve anatomy. However, we planned meticulously and successfully replaced the diseased valve with a new one. With the help of pulmonary and physical rehabilitation, she made a remarkable recovery.”

Mrs. Jadhav said, “I cannot thank the doctors and staff at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai Central enough for their expertise, care, and support during my treatment. My faith in them and my determination to live longer for my children helped me overcome my fears, and today I am leading a healthy and fulfilling life with them.”
